Zac's team were all lined up along the table, ready for the arm wrestle. The gym leader eyes his opponent. Did the man have a metal arm? Surely that was cheating. "Well, if he's going to give himself a little advantage, it's only fair." Thick dune grass sprouted under the table, and Zac felt a surge of strength.

Up first was Swampert. The wet arm wrestler grabbed its opponent's hand with a juicy MUD SLAP, and attempted to pin their arm with its powerful upper body.

This was certainly an unusual battle, though when an AVATAR mentioned a battle of strength Pryde couldn't’ help but be interested. So he volunteers, part of him curious if the power of an avatar could match up against the power of a man-made machine. [break][break]

So he calls out his pokemon as asked, the first was his Hitmonlee. While definitely not known for their arm strength, there was no reason it couldn’t try to LOW SWEEP their opponent for the win to try and pin the swampert. [break][break]

Hitmonlee's attack connects, bruising Swampert but failing to knock her over. Swampert is just too stocky to be knocked over like that. Too low to the ground. She lets out a wet, hiccupping victory noise. "Nice work!" Zac says, calling his congratulations from up the line.

Zac: 1 point

Next up is Byron, the Nidoking. He's sore from his loss to @rowan's Poliwrath, and ready to kick some serious...goo? Some serious shadow? Looking at Pryde's team it was hard to formulate a plan of attack. Would he be slamming away at a robot? Or maybe at another Nidoking? "Play nice. We're here to have fun mate," Zac advised. Byron ignored him.

Well, if Hitmonlee could use his legs, then Byron could use his head for one. He reared back, bringing his thick skull forward in a devastating HEAD SMASH!

That's what he would describe the Hitmonlee with, though he supposes he can't be too harsh on bringing a leg pokemon to an arm wrestling match. Though it wouldn't completely stop him in judging them. Ever the critic he was. He'll return them to their pokeball for their failure as when the Nidoking goes up rather than respond in kind he just goes with the next on the list. [break][break]

The Reuniclus, they weren't much of a battler as more of an assistant to him, but they had arms. With it's jelly arms its able to brace for the HEAD SMASH, where as it would attempt to use PSYCHIC to help it win the arm wrestling. [break][break]

Reuniclus's psychic wrestle knocked Nidoking bakwards and onto the sand. The brawler lay there for a few seconds, dazed, before harrumphing and sitting back up. Byron glared at his jelly opponent. He had been bested, and he was furious.

Next up was Clambert, the Druddigon. The red-faced menace took to the table with iron claws and ferocious, slavering fangs. He wasn't here for revenge, or glory. He was here to be a goddamn pest and to get some blood on the sand. "Hey! That's enough of that!" Zac said, noticing the look in the dragon's eyes, and the way he was breathing hard already. "We're here for a friendly game, okay?"

Zac wiped his forehead with a Lars and Articuno sweatband. Why were so many of his Pokemon bad sports? Was it because he had brought all his most jock-y Pokemon to the sport that was all about upper-body strength? Probably.

"I wanna see a nice, clean game, yeah? Or else I'm sending you to anger management again!" he warned. Clambert looked unconvinced, but mollified. With a grumble, he clasped hands with Dusknoir and dug in his claws (just a little bit).

"I wouldn't object to a more head on battle, though I suppose I'm more curious on a battle with you head on," pryde comments with slight amusement as his Dusknoir heads up and locks hands with the dragon. It gives little amusement as the dragon attempts to dig in their claws. As if the ghost would allow that to deter it. However it does seem to make a comment to them. Something along the lines of promising to guide their soul to an early grave someday. [Break][break]

Soul guiding, head crushing, early graves, it was all good quality banter. Zac laughed and smiled, and let out a cheer as Clambert managed to win the arm wrestle....against a ghost.

"Hell yeah! Two to one, and I've got a red-hot contender comin' up next!" Wanda the Blaziken puffed out her chest and adjusted her slick, powerful crest. Up next for Pryde was another ghost. Blaziken curled and uncurled her claws, sizing up her opponent. Could her forearms beat her enemy's four arms? Maybe not. But she had something that the creepy coffin didn't have.

Legs.

Taking a page out of Hitmonlee's book, Wanda struck upwards with a BLAZE KICK, burning a hole through the table and right into the history books.

Both trainer and pokemon share an odd look as the Blaziken decides to ignore all rules and stickers her leg through the table. Unorthodox, but it wasn't like his Hitmonlee didn't try it earlier. Though they didn't have the nerve to break the table. Rude. [Break][break]

Though Cofagrigus wasn't going to stop, using power splitting The ghost Pokemon closes the gap of strength as it attempts to take them down.

Even splitting the power between the contestants, Cofagrigus has to divide its strength between all four arms. And everyone knows that four arms are no match for a single, mighty leg.

"Yes! You beauty!" Zac crowed, grabbing Wanda in a rough hug. "Just one more point. It's time to bring in a ringer."

Next up was Zac's metal mate: Duraladon. The creature had trouble reaching across the table with its powerful, steely arms, but it had the grip strength of a train coupling, and the bone density of a titanium brick. "This one's for the team!" Zac called, helpfully.

Brittanium hunkered down, set phasers to 'arm wrestle', and got ready to win this thing.

At this rate he the numbers would be up before he had a chance at the avatar himself. Though all he could do was take the lost and keep on going. And if the other won before he had the chance than he'll simply ask for a match anyways. The avatar seemed quite peppy. [Break][break]

Brittaium lost, and Zac started to sweat. "Nice try buddy, that was a good try," he said, patting the metal monster supportively, like a coach consoling a star player who missed an easy kick.

"And next up is..." Zac turned to his last team member. Bulu. The legendary was asleep on the table. "Oh. Yeah. Okay sure, nah, we can do this. Come un Bulu! It's time for a friendly arm wrestle. You're my ace in the hole!"

The legendary didn't move. Zac frowned slightly, and heaved one of the bull's clanging arms up onto the table. The avatar grew a few vines up from the wooden tabletop, holding Bulu's arm in place. It wasn't much, but it would guarantee that the bull didn't lose the match before it starts.

"Uh, ready when you are."

Just one more, though it seems like they were both using their ace of their sleeves. Whough while his Nidoking was a mere gift between him and his wife when they first dated they were up against a legend. Though it seems like they weren't too interested in battling. Very different from Cillian Quinn's Lugia it seemed. [Break][break]

"Try not to disappoint," he orders softly so the other couldn't hear as the scared Nidoking brings it's arms up ready to take on the legendary bull.

Bulu was easily bested. The bull slept through the whole match, barely noticing.

"Well, it's down to us," Zac said, grinning as he rolled up his sleeves. He sat down at the table, giving himself a pep talk. Metal arm vs metal mind. Man vs man who is also a machine. You've got this Zac. You can't lose. Your team is counting on you. Zac cracked open one last Charja-Cola and drank half of it. He let his avatar energy well up, strengthening his shoulders, arms, and core. Though a broken bone wasn't much of a setback these days, Zac didn't feel like snapping anything today. He put his elbow on the table. Ready.

"Good luck mate. Now let's bloody do this thing!"

Pryde's expression has been relatively neutral this whole game so far. Even when it seems the legend forfeits as it barely puts up a fight. It lacked pride and it was disappointing, he wanted a test not laziness. Though at least now it was his turn to try. "Does your legend give you any extra strength?" he couldn't help but ask as he wanted a proper test run. [Break][break]

Raphael removes his jacket to allow better movement. Most his arm still covered as there seemed to be a cover on it making it seem more natural if it were for the metallic hand. He locks his grip with the other as he gives a competitive smile before he attempts to take them down.
